I hope you are well and in the midst of a challenging yet satisfying design project.

We realise your association has not been active of late. The exco has been eagerly planning a range of activities to rev up wREGA again. We all want to be noticed. We want our profession to be recognised. So far it hasn’t been easy. We’re facing a lot of challenges. And we need your help.

Last year, we organised one interesting activity and then things came to a halt. Not that we wanted it to but support has been lacking. To represent the interests of graphic designers in this country we need the involvement of graphic designers. That’s you, and also your designer friends.

Why we need your help & support.

Quite frankly we’re under-staffed. The 4-person exco alone can only do so much. We have planned quite a few events for this year to engage the public on what good design is all about and want them to get off the ground.

1. wREGA Graphic Design Industry Awards

-organising committee, volunteers, many bodies needed to help organise this huge industry event. Did I say huge? I meant HUGE!

2. wREGA Design eNews website

-need designers who can write & web designers who can multimedia.

3. Design Portfolio Reviews

-design veterans needed to critique fresh job-seeking newbie designers’ portfolios.

4. Talks/Seminars/Workshops

- need guest speakers on all subjects design related. Either u wanna talk or u know someone who might…

5. Informal Get-togethers

- all are welcome to meet other designers over coffee/tea to be held at interesting venues.

So if you want to make a difference, play a part, even a small one, please let us know.

We welcome you with open arms. Just reply to this e-mail and let us know who you are and how you can contribute your time and/or expertise.

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting soon and all you members and interested guests are invited. There will be 2 interesting guest speakers for that day on the subject of blogging and mobile video and its FREE. Light refreshments will be served.
