We are glad to announce that on last Saturday, 15th September 2007, pipit had its first anniversary at Central Market Annexe, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. It is an event which gathers designers and artists all around the web from Malaysia. We are happy to be there to witness the success of the event in conjunction of the launch for their second issue of the pipit magazine! Located right behind Central Market which is famous for its art and craft market, we got hold of several interesting spot of VOICES candidate to be interviewed soon, well back to the topic, let’s move on with sharing on what we had that day!

The event started approximately at 11 A.M. where the crowd was awesome even in the early of the afternoon itself. You won’t be missing the direction since there’s almost roadsign all around Central Market.

This one is placed right in front of the entrance.

Heading towards the second floor of Annexe. It’s really a nice cosy place to be for an art event.

Upon arriving, we are surprised by the amount of designers that present there at that time, about 12 in the noon, there is already group of designer demo on shoe illustration.

Itenary of the day. Something definitely different, this place itself gave us a different atmosphere on what a gathering normally would be? Well, I didn’t had a chance to stay up until the performance, but nevertheless it’s great meeting up with you guys there.

What definitely caught my attention upon entering the venue is the header which is compromises of a long huge horizontal illustration which is said to be a combined effort of all the designers that pipit invited to create.

It’s classically beautiful!

Not to forget to congratulate them on their second release of their magazine.

It would be something that you would least expect from what a traditional book will be. Or should I say, scroll?

It comes in a form of poster/magazine whichever you want to have it. Pretty interesting concept.

Another highlight for the day would be continuous demo of illustration from designers. Including such as Black Fryday, monkeymonyet, urbancreatures, spacemaggot, eightyfourcube and more!

Evangelione also had her fabulous miniature on display near the counter. I’m utterly amazed by the amount of detail that she put in on the work itself. What’s more, she did it out of passion.

And not to forget, that which is a highlight from any other exhibition that I’ve been to. Over the wall inside the venue is series of box board that is decorated, designed or illustrated by designers, artists alike to send a wish to pipit in any form they like. Cool to see a huge variation of beauty all along. Did you submit yours? Where is it?
