Thrifty Dutch designer Anneke Jakobs has created something wonderfully ‘a-peeling’ with her recycled Chiquita Chandelier. Created while a student at the Utrecht School of Product Design, the eco-luxe chandelier consists of cut out banana shapes from ten Chiquita cartons that the designer rescued from the streets. All of the chandelier elements are secured with desktop paper fasteners. The chandelier is for subtle ambient lighting only, but we are most impressed by the designer’s creative use of castaway materials for an upscale, brand-subverting object. via inhabitat

name of design : Vice Versa
design by : yiran qian from china
designer’s own words:
This clock design only has hands but no dial plate.Dial plate serve as a foil to clock hands,we read time from contrast. But this design idea reverse the relationship between hands and dial, use the hand as a dial. You dont have to worry about the colour of the dial plate does not match the circumstance, and it save the dial plate, save the most material of a clock. Plus, now you can set your clock wherever you want,on the top of the peak,or a pillar, you just need a point then you can set it up.

xplsv.tv says :
.FLV is the answer.Things have changed. Adobe announced some weeks ago that their new player (released as beta) now supports more formats, .MP4 and .3GPP mainly.
So, IN SHORT, you’d better start compressing your videos as .MP4 (h.264), using ACC or MP3 compression for the audio. Quicktime can play them nicely already and Flash will also play them with no problems, is just about time for the new version of the plug-in to extend. And never forget of ticking the box of compress for fast start
If you do so, you will make sure Windows/Mac/Linux users will be able to see your work from within the browser.
If you want detailed information about this:

PS: Please, ignore DivX.

An International Award Winning Malaysia-born Chinese Artist C.N.Liew, who advocates artistic authenticity and the philosophy of Zen Buddhism in his artwork. He is taking calligraphy into the future. he has taken its strike forms and infused them with vibrant colours and strokes that force the viewer to think outside the box. In fact, Liew’s works are so far outside the box, he felt moved to coin a new word to describe his art form: “surrealigraphy”. I believe he is the one and only person in the world that has taken calligraphy into another dimension!

Minale-Maeda: Tasteful.
You are what you eat? Netherlands-based design duo Mario Minale and Kuniko Maeda would have a view on that. To this innovative pair, food is as much a matter for the eyes as for the stomach and their subversive take on the aesthetics of gastronomy owes more to the school of Dada than Cordon Bleu.
They have even designed a dress for Jean Paul Gaultier made entirely out of meat! Seeing is believing – so come and see for yourself as Kwun Tong’s APM mall gets its first taste of avant-garde art, put on specially for culture-hungry shoppers.
