So, IN SHORT, you’d better start compressing your videos as .MP4 (h.264), using ACC or MP3 compression for the audio. Quicktime can play them nicely already and Flash will also play them with no problems, is just about time for the new version of the plug-in to extend. And never forget of ticking the box of compress for fast start 
If you do so, you will make sure Windows/Mac/Linux users will be able to see your work from within the browser.
