Cutting the cloth with jigsaw map
September 20th, 2007
World Map, constructed from 2000 layers of cloth cut into components, is installed as part of the Biennale of Sydney.
The work, by the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, is designed to be extremely labour intensive to install, hinting at China’s status as a source of cheap workers for the fabric industry. Read it more from www.smh.com.au.

Using some old school technique, I’m rendered speechless when I saw this video of the unpacking demonstration. Brilliant.

Facts & Fallacies on Black Google
To my surprise that I’ve not heard of this site that creates an opposite of what Google normally looks like. The reason? Simple, reducing the power consumption of monitor on all average household around the world. It makes sense since there are almost half of the globe of people using the search engine daily. But once question comes to mind that if it’s really accurate? Or does it help? There are even doubts of the effectiveness to have such site for LCD monitor, since some people claim power consumption are far higher to block lights emitting from the monitor. In fact, I’d think it’s for good cause no matter what people may say, and we may never know how much of an effect they can make from saving these little power consumption over a period of time multiplying by the number of people on the earth using computer? That explains a shocking fact that the current Apple site is on a black background. Some other similar sites? Blackle. Search In Color. Power Google. Black Google.
