Minale-Maeda: Tasteful.
You are what you eat? Netherlands-based design duo Mario Minale and Kuniko Maeda would have a view on that. To this innovative pair, food is as much a matter for the eyes as for the stomach and their subversive take on the aesthetics of gastronomy owes more to the school of Dada than Cordon Bleu.
They have even designed a dress for Jean Paul Gaultier made entirely out of meat! Seeing is believing – so come and see for yourself as Kwun Tong’s APM mall gets its first taste of avant-garde art, put on specially for culture-hungry shoppers.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad full movie Showing: October 1-7, 2007
At: APM, 418 Kwun Tong Road, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong
Hours: 12:00pm – 2:00am
Presented by: APM, Minale-Maeda and IdN
Cutting the cloth with jigsaw map
September 20th, 2007
World Map, constructed from 2000 layers of cloth cut into components, is installed as part of the Biennale of Sydney.
The work, by the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, is designed to be extremely labour intensive to install, hinting at China’s status as a source of cheap workers for the fabric industry. Read it more from www.smh.com.au.
