Whitespace
This morning I was suprised that there is new article from ALA (A List Apart). And from this article, I fell in love with them even more, covering the basics in design, whitespace. Note the difference between the usual dilemma you have with China-men bosses vs. design that talks to people. I like this quote personally. “Less whitespace = cheap; more whitespace = luxury”. It just hits right at the sweet spot on the people that doesn’t listen to it.
SNAP
As you can see, I’ve implemented the SNAP Preview feature. It’s really neat and one of the reason why I chose to implement it, is due to it’s responsiveness. I was shocked to know it takes them really just few second to update a new thumbnail!
Look at the examples below, you can enlarge the screenshot (with clock at sides) to look for yourself on how fast it is!

And I hope everything will goes smooth sailing in this upcoming great year. So sorry I had to say the server ran into some hiccup and I needed to contact the tech support to get the problem fixed asap. Don’t worry, we got thing’s in hand now. Just that minor restoration has to be done.
Update 04/01 :Â Restoration on the database has been done and everything now should run as it is. Thanks for your patience

How are you there creative souls! Hope you had a great rest and break from the Christmas holidays, and there’s another one yet to come.
And a bit of off-topic from design/creative news but to inform you on the recent massive connection slowdown on our country. Actually it’s not only affecting us locally, but throughout the entire Asia, due to a massive earthquake at Taiwan, measured at 7.1 Richter scale. More news at here, here and here. Is it just another natural disaster or a warning is coming? What do you think? There’s even an ongoing discussion on possibility that the problem is tough to fix.

Here are you can see, we are completly giving DE an overhaul from look to front/backend engine. This is to say you can also use your mobile phone to access this website in the future! Yes, and we are moving towards web accesibility and standards. Easier to say than done, but we are working with full force towards the direction. And if you found any errors or missing links while browsing this site, drop us a note and we’ll get towards there fixing it.
User-driven site
That’s it, has been said and done. We are now even welcoming more contributions toward the site and have you it take it as your own site! If you have any news, announcements or events that you wanted to share, do not feel shy and participate in the news section.
New contents, new directions
Yes, and unlike the usual direction we headed to, we are now even focussing more onto providing you more functionality onto the site, the Directory and SnapShop, which the latter are an online marketplace and design product hunt-watch. Keep an eye as more development branches from there. Directory on the other hand is a hanful list of designers, agency, artists alike are compiled from all over Malaysia here. Join us if you have not. We are growing.
That’s it for now, we’ll inform you guys as we have more updates to come. At the moment we are running on a secondary server as we are also working hard onto moving everything from here to a brand new spankin server. Adios!

A look at post from doxob this morning stumbled across a dude from FusionWave promoting their new character called Dweey, pretty interesting I’d say, and I’m surprised that Dweey involved as a spokeperson for the 2nd season of Nescafe Kickstart’s winner, in a recycling campaign. And they’re calling for entry, a collaboration to create different wardrobe/skin for Dweey! Join the fun, i’ll be submitting mine soon as well, as they’ll going to feature good ones on their November Design Show this year end.

What does it feel when you are able to enjoy the same thing with millions of other people at the same time? Except world cup i mean. On the internet, I guess you’ll feel a whole lot of different experience from having that kind of option. The reason? Infinite Outcome/Possiblity.
The cons? Despite the fact you never know what you’ll get, so it’s back to the end user to decide the content if it might contains elements thats too excessive.
