7 Surefire Styles That Will Work
If you are currently working on a new project and might wonder if there is any source of inspiration to use what type of art styles for it. Vitamin has compiled a list of 7 styles that might just work for your project.

3D Chinese Painting
We have seen much of the animation on Chinese paintings utilizing traditional or 2D animation, much likely because it is rather to replicate the same effect or feel in a 3D environment. But the Shenzhen branch of the Institute of Digital Media Technology did the magic. via Virtual China

1930 Shanghai Advertising Poster
Interesting article on how the culture evolved. via oneinchpunch
Ernest Goes to Camp video As claimed from the source, this site offers the top videos which are nominated by the users, just like the Oscars. via Virtual China

Nod Young
I think he is one of the coolest designer from the Eastern region that I’ve came across too this year. As one of the co-owner of Khaki Creative And Design from Beijing, it’s absolutely jaw dropping to certain extend of his work are inspired from his industrial environment. Cassetes, paper-cut designs, chrysanthemum are one of the few elements that most of the time being overlooked as an interesting design element. Worth to be inspired. via Virtual China
Short sweet spot on being eco-friendly. via motionographer

A rather unusual site that would wake you up in the morning with its hilarious approach on selling a product. Axercise would be eye opening since it’s subtly suggesting other message besides from the main product itself, it would be the lifestyle, impression that you would get from using it. I guess that is where it sets apart from other website. They even took it up towards the level that there’s a news channel to report about the product and its effect. Thanks tsuqi.

Jonas Odell – The Hours
Speaking of details, this music video would won another highest rating from me for being the most stylish+detail work this year.

Design Event 07 : Film Call For Entries
Deadline : 10th August 2007
And some sweet treat to ice up the cake, a tutorial from Henry on how you can use the Advanced Lightning featured in After Effects Professional to create an eerie looking growing tree!

Burning Safari
Remember the hilarious 3d shorts that you saw a while ago? If you haven’t, you should. The cameras, lightings, characters and almost every good essence that an animated short should have, this one has it. But what’s more rewarding now that they even provide downloads for all “behind-the-scene” videos.

Diesel Holographic Show
What happens when there is integration between sci-fi technology in fashion design? We get a surreal and almost dreamlike setting on stage for the audience. Similar to the technique used by MTV previously when they held a live concert for Gorillaz, a holographic projection is created to create a sense of space. The result? Unforgettable experience.
Remember the whole Flickr set of creative business card designs ? He even has it compiled on his own site titling Art of Business Cards.

Antilimit Matte Paintings
Beautifully surreal.

Diddy.com
Perhaps this could go down into my list for being one of the most stylish site for this year. It didn’t take quite a lot of hardcore actionscripting but what takes the merit is the continous effort in crafting out every inch of eye candy, from transitioning the character in and out of the page. Brilliant. And out of my suprise I’ve found out Andreas Wannerstedt
was responsible on the site as well, which he also had his portfolio site updated. He’s definitely one of my top list flash interactive designer that I’ve never seem to stop get inspired by him.

This event was held on 19th of May 2007, which gathers most of the car enthusiasts, models and photographers around Klang Valley. We also had the event announced a while ago in DE.
And most of us might ask if this has to do with a design blog, well that it might be a direct relation at first but as soon you read through, you might learn one or two new things on culture and design in car enthusiasts community. Pretty neat I would say. Putting aside the Fast N Furious scene, it’s much less like a playground for collectors, just like what a coke lover would do.

While it may seem to be random to be posting entertainment based news in the early morning but it’s really delighting on how one subject may evolve once it reaches mainstream (ak.a. the big screen). According to Kenny, you’ll be able to purchase it at Takara’s site. Perhaps you’ll get a clearer picture in case you’re wondering on how the brand evolved. Thanks Suu for the tip. With the recent huge buzz on transformation, PingMag also has some interview with a designer that involved in designing Transformers toy (The gadget transformation was awesome). Mind blowing idea as well.
